Staff Training

Internal training allows new staff to benefit from the extensive experience of management, supervisors and operators. All employees are encouraged to multi-skill across departments and are supported by experts in their particular field. Multi-skilling allows employees to have a varied work experience and enhances their value to the organisation. Career options and increased responsibilities are enhanced through this process.

Since starting operations, Davin has trained many apprentices and trades people in the field of sheet metal work. The company has an ongoing involvement with training providers and Tertiary institutes in the development of their engineering curricula. Davin management view industry involvement in tertiary training as critical in supporting students to gain the right skills. We look to Tertiary education institute graduates as the future work force to support Davin in its future expansion plans.

Much of the training available to Davin staff attracts points toward NZQA unit standards, which improves trainees’ employment prospects in the manufacturing sector.
